Business Development Manager OEM

The Business Development Manager researches, plans and develops business opportunities for Delta Controls and Delta Partners in specific market segments and types of clients. The intent is for the Business Development Manager to be the major account champion and to generate sales revenue for the defined segment(s). The ideal candidate will have experience selling Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)/ODM arrangements. Experience which would support our integrated systems strategy would be a plus. Substantial travel within North America will be required. Candidates based in the US with major airports nearby are preferred.
  • Bring incremental growth to Delta Controls by developing Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) agreements
  • Manage the penetration into a selected major client combined with an integrated green offering
  • Develop major OEM account sales objectives, plans, programs, and budgets
  • Direct sales operations through direct sales activities to HVAC manufacturers.
  • Look for integrated opportunities from converging industries such as access control, lighting and any other IoT related industries
  • Generate new business through the promotion of Delta Controls and Delta Electronics products
  • Research the assigned market(s) needs, identify key stakeholders, market trends, competition, opportunities and key success factors
  • Identify and communicate product/service needs and market trends to Delta product managers and management
  • Identify appropriate marketing materials specifically required for your market and be a lead stakeholder and driver in their development
  • Capture new clients by taking the sales process from prospect, to proposal, to closing
    • Manage the strategic selling process with the client to secure the projects

Intermediate Web / Full Stack Developer

As a Full Stack Developer with Delta Controls, you work with your project team to create leading-edge solutions for worldwide use in the Building Controls industry. The cloud team is focused on providing robust services and apps built on services by Google, AWS and other providers. You will actively participate in all stages of the development process such as brainstorming ideas, design, implementation, QA testing, functional reviews and continuous improvement. During every development cycle each developer is assigned a research task to explore new technologies, tools or ideas which may be applied to a future release.

Product Manager
Location Surrey, BC, Canada
Delta Controls is hiring a Product Manager to fill an opening at our organization. This would be an external-facing role based on creating, launching, and supporting the sales of product solutions.
  • Develop and maintain overall product plans for the assigned product platforms.  This requires a thorough review and analysis of market needs, trends, and other data procured from Product Strategists.
  • Evaluation of product vision and scope to define high level and detailed requirements for product implementation. This will require the Product Manager to interview user groups, meet with customers and develop use cases.
  • Analysis of incoming feature requests, bug reports, and customer needs.
  • Coordinate with other business units to ensure system architectural compatibility and efficiency of development.
  • Work with the development team to ensure adherence to product vision and scope throughout development cycle.
  • Coordinate product releases, including documentation and announcements.
  • Overall responsibility for each of the products in your product platform, from conception to release.  This also includes all aspects of functionality, quality, packaging, documentation etc.
  • Provide use-case requirements to be leveraged for development of your products’ user interfaces.  User Interface design will be reviewed by the project team, Customer Solutions and the Director of Product Management for ease of use, and quality.
  • Coordinate research on new products and innovative technologies for use with the Delta product line. Attend relevant trade shows or external customer meetings pertaining to the assigned product lines.
  • Ensure that the technical content of your assigned product platform on Delta’s corporate web sites are current and accurate.
  • Work with the Manufacturing team to create product numbers for all introduced products.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing and Product Strategists to develop product pricing strategy for existing and new products.
  • Provide guidance and direction on the functional test plans as performed by Quality Assurance.
  • Coordinate Beta site delivery of the product as well as collection of Beta feedback.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the Technical Writers.  Accountable for ensuring that the quality of the technical documents produced by the tech writers is of a professional level, and that content is suitable for the intended audience.
  • Work with the development team to create application demos and the content for product demos.
  • Manage feature requests during the lifecycle of the product lines.
  • Some business travel, as required.

Sales Engineer - OEM Sales
Location Surrey, BC, Canada
Delta Controls Inc. is hiring a Sales Engineer with building automation solutions experience based out of our Surrey, BC office (Cloverdale/Langley border). This is a full-time, permanent position to start as soon as possible. The main responsibilities will be to provide commercial and technical sales support to the Business Development Team in the advancement of existing and prospective Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) accounts globally. The selected candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in control applications for building HVAC equipment as well as in building automation solutions for various types of facilities.
  • Assist the OEM Business Development Team with creating and proposing solutions encompassing Delta Controls’ HVAC, lighting and/or access products & services for new and existing OEM client opportunities.
  • Liaise/coordinate with various teams internally to advance the creation of the OEM solutions through various process stages and prepare technical and commercial proposals thereof accordingly. These teams may typically include the Product Management/Strategy Teams, Technical Services Team, Customer Service (Orders & RMA), Accounting and Executive Management.
  • Liaise/coordinate with various parties externally to fulfil core responsibilities as required. In addition to OEM clients, these parties may typically include third party field device suppliers, as part of the OEM solution (including Delta Electronics) and, in some specific cases, other channel partners as part of the business model (e.g. Delta System Partners).
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective OEM clients, and fully engage in the onboarding process of newly signed accounts, coordinating internally and externally and refining the process accordingly

Software Quality Assurance Specialist
Location Surrey, BC, Canada
Our Product Development team has openings for Software Quality Assurance Specialists with Junior through Intermediate experience levels to be based in our Surrey, BC offices (Cloverdale/Langley border). This is a full-time, permanent position to start as soon as possible.
  • Work closely with test leads and developers to design test plan strategies based on design documentation and requirements.
  • Verify that new features are fully implemented and will meet our customer’s needs.
  • Maintains test plans for changes in the product.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Manual and automated test execution.
  • Record test results and track issues for resolution.
  • Verifies defect fixes are satisfactory on new builds.
  • Contribute to the creation of designs for production software with a focus on testability, robustness, and performance.
  • Ensures that product development teams are using best practices in software development.
